A STUDY OF LIGHT ENTERING THE HOME.

“A STUDY OF LIGHT ENTERING THE HOME” is a weave collection created with the soft, afternoon sun in mind. The objective of this collection is to grasp the simple comforts of sunlight warming the place you feel most at ease. The tactile element is equally, if not more important than the visual considerations to do this concept justice; because of this the warp is 100% lambs wool with 100% merino wool as the key weft component. There is also grey wool roving to create texture, 100% lambs wool slubbing and thin strips of acetate in one weave for a more conceptual piece. The colours are non existent outside of the naturally occurring pigments of the wool so the textures of the weave patterns will take centre stage. My hope is these pieces invoke the feeling of calm and comfort.
